New to Aurora Kids? Each child in your family can do their first class for free!
Absences & Make-ups
Please call out before your child’s class if they are going to miss. This is the only way we can provide make-ups.
Please call to schedule a make-up (don’t just show up to another class-it may be full) and within the the session you are paid for.
We don’t credit or refund for missed classes. We will do our best to help you make them up. Kids can do make-ups in any class that is age-appropriate where there is room.
Missed classes need to be made up while your tuition is current. That means within the session or ½ session you are currently enrolled. We cannot “roll them over” into the 2nd half of a session or a new session.
Snow Days
Aurora Kids doesn’t automatically close for Snow (or other miscellaneous days-like inservices) with the Anchorage School District. If you are unsure about weather conditions and there is a risk of closure check out our website, our Facebook page and/or call our office. We will post as many places as possible to keep you informed. Our holiday closure dates are listed on our class schedule each session.
Sick kids
FYI- The staff here at Aurora Kids works very diligently to keep our facility as clean and as germ free as possible. We clean every free moment we have. We understand your concerns about flu and every other illness that can potentially pass through all our families. With recent years it seems “the season” for these illnesses comes quicker and lasts longer. Please don’t send a child that you even suspect is sick. Kids must be free of fever and symptoms for 72 hours before returning. If they have had contact with anyone testing positive for COVID-19, they should not participate with us for two weeks and stay symptom free during that time. We have a very lenient make-up policy and lots of classes to choose from so please help us keep everyone as healthy as possible.

Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation is entirely by my own choice and with the understanding that there is risk and the possibility of accidental injury in any activity involving motion or height. I understand the nature of this Activity and acknowledge that my child is qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity.
Release of Liability
I, a parent or guardian of the participant, give my approval for the above named student’s participation in any and all activities of the Aurora Kids program, including the use of inflatables. Parent Communication
We believe that keeping the lines of communication open between staff, parents and gymnasts is important. We post signs in our
Lobby, send handouts home regularly, have televised announcements on lobby televisions and make announcements after
every class. We have also found the best way to establish communication in this day and time is through email. Therefore,
please make sure we have your correct email address on file and that our emails are not seen as “junk”.
We send out regular updates to keep you current on upcoming events via both email and on our Facebook page. All upcoming
events are posted on our Facebook for your convenience. Snow closures can also be found there.
Our website is another source of communication. www.aurorakidsak.com.
Finally, we want you to feel free to talk to your instructors at any time. They are available after classes. Please feel free to
ask them questions.
Make-Up Policy
Space in Aurora Kids activities is reserved. Prior notice of absence is required for all make-ups. Missed classes must be made up during the current session in a class other than your regularly scheduled class. Make-ups can only be done during a period that has been paid for, not carried over as a credit into an unpaid session or half session. Be sure to call ahead to cancel class and schedule a make-up. This allows us to maintain our student/teacher ratios, and ensures your child will not be turned away from class. Tuition will not be credited, extended or refunded due to absences. All make-ups should call (345-0093) in advance to cancel or email us at gym@aurorakidsak.com.
Only classes that are cancelled prior to the start of the class will be eligible for a make-up.
I’ve read the above and agree.
Kids that aren’t potty trained
If your child is participating in a class without direct parent participation and is not completely potty trained an adult must remain on the premises during class. In the event your child has a potty accident it is the responsibility of the adult to take care of it. Instructors cannot leave students unattended to take care of kids in bathrooms or change diapers.
Kids that aren’t potty trained cannot participate in camps.
Kids that aren’t potty trained are considered “baby spots” for Friday Nights Out. We only have 4 of these spots available each week.
Developmental/Social/Behavioral Concerns
It is the your responsibility to communicate to your child’s instructors any developmental, social, or emotional issues your child has. We understand that many students have attention deficit, autism/Asperger’s syndrome, developmental delays, vision and hearing loss, etc. How we deal with them in class is highly contingent on our understanding the needs of each child. It is only fair to your child and all others in class that we understand the best way to deal with issues.
If your child cannot listen and follow directions, is unsafe in any way, disruptive or disrespectful, they will be brought out of class. If your child cannot improve negative behavior when brought back in, they will be asked to leave for the day.
If your child has the potential for this behavior please stay during class. If an issue of this kind occurs, your child’s instructor will request that you stay during class until it is resolved.
Responsibilities
Parents are responsible for their children in the lobby prior to and after class. No running in the lobby. Please don’t bring snacks. We have many students with contact allergies that are life threatening. That means if they pick up a peanut off the floor they go to the emergency room.
We make every effort to monitor children after classes. Parents need to be on time for class and to pickup their children. Opening circle is important, we go over rules, safety, and directions for the rest of class.
Students should be barefoot or in ballet shoes, in loose comfortable clothing, no jewelry (or wrist bands), with hair up. Please be on time for pickup. Many children get very anxious when class is over and they don’t their grownup.
We understand that older students get dropped and picked up occasionally without parents. You are responsible for their safe transition into and out of the gym.
Medical Emergency
The undersigned gives permission to Aurora Kids, its owners and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or condition and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health. I request that our doctor/physician be called and that my child be transported to the appropriate hospital.
